Midnight-Commander
The Midnight-Commander (MC) is a file manager under GNU Public Licence. The structure of the COMANDER is based on the familiar Norton Commander for DOS/WINDOWS .

You can change a directory (marked by a "/" in front of the directory's name) by double click with the mouse or by selecting with the cursor keys and confirming with enter.
If you double click ".." in MC this will move you one directory up-
Right below the options bar you can find the basic applications of the MC, which you can select via F1-F10 keys..
Employing the F3 key you can open the selected file.
Employing the F5 key you copy the selected file.
Employing the F6 key you can displace the selected file.

If you wish to exclude certain files from a selection press "-" to open a dialogue box where you can enter criteria for the files to be excluded.
The Midnight-Commander allows you to view files and delete incorrectly saved files, for example: Start the MC in the terminal window with the call mc. To open the terminal window you have to employ the relevant icon from the menu bar of the window manager at the lower margin of the screen.
In the top margin of the left and right windows you will see the name of the directories which are currently open. You can switch from the left to the right window and vice versa by pressing the tab key.
