| abs. position. | Enter the absolute position of the sign (meters) on the track in the interface. |
| for lane (blank=all) | The validity of the sign with respect to the track is determined by specifying the for lane field. If this field remains blank or a zero is entered the sign applies for all lanes. If a sign is only to apply for two of three lanes two signs must be defined each of which is valid for one lane only. The existing signs can be selected from the bottom-bar. |
| value | A value also has to be assigned for certain signs. This is the case for the speed restriction which is to be inserted here. Slightly different is the element traffic light. The number of traffic light cycle which is used has to be inserted instead of the value. Six cycle light cycles are available under ../work/pelops/global Special traffic light cycles can be created corresponding to your specific demands and saved locally as required. |
| visibility | The visibility determines the distance the sign is perceivable from. In this way it is possible to take sight obscurations caused e.g. by trees into consideration. Attention: For the simulation the minimum of perception ability of the driver and of the visibility itself determines the range of vision. |
The existing signs can be selected from the bottom-bar. Additional attributes such as 'gross veh.', 'weight range' > 2.8t etc. can be assigned in the pull-down menu right below the button-bar.
The applicable lane must always be specified in the case of unbrocken lines. An unbroken line absolutely prohibits a lane change. A motorway entrance or exit, where lane change is only allowed within certain area, can be realized with a combination of these signs. The visibility of signs like this should always be set zero.
Note:
The adjacent lane does not automatically
have the same unbroken line at this point..
